Semester/Master project in collaboration with Louis Dreyfus Company - LDC

Objectives

The goal is to study decarbonization strategies for the biofuels production in the LDC assets

Profile

  • Interest in renewable energy conversion systems and energy integration methods.
  • Knowledge on energy systems engineering, waste heat recovery and techno-economic analysis.
  • Some knowledge on Python and Lua is desirable.

Project plan

The study includes:

  1. Analyze the thermochemical and biological routes for upgrading the byproducts of LDC company.
  2. Estimate the waste heat recovery potential in those routes to produce combined heat and power.
  3. Assess the potential to produce net negative biodiesel and ethanol biofuels.
  4. Direct interaction with the enterprise and manufacturers
  5. Promotion of knowledge transfer from academia to industry

Observation

The project is related to the roadmaps for decarbonizing one of the world largest agri-food and biofuels production company.
