Short Bio
Hey there, I’m Sai Sudharshan Ravi, currently diving (not drowning, at least not yet) into the world of urban energy systems as a PhD student at the IPESE Lab, EPFL. Originally hailing from the southern part of India, I proudly converse in Tamizh (தமிழ்) as my mother tongue. Before embarking on my journey here at EPFL, I was a master’s student at KAUST at the Advanced Propulsions Systems Lab.
Now, when I’m not focusing on work, you’ll likely find me on my yoga mat or cooking up something that probably is not very healthy. If you happen to run into me at some point, say hello or better yet, say “vanakkam” (வணக்கம்).
My research
My PhD research aims to assess the potential of innovative thermal energy storage systems, more specifically seasonal storage systems that leverages adsorption-based mechanisms to utilize waste heat from different sources for heating, cooling and thermal management applications in addressing the energy crisis. By integrating cutting-edge sorbent materials and leveraging real-time data of heat demands, the study will address the challenges ofaced in energy transition and urban decarbonization.
